To support local government take advantage of the latest research and climate services to inform their adaptation needs and actions.
Dr. James Fitton leads the Impacts and Adaptation Group at MaREI, University College Cork, Ireland. James is the lead researcher on Climate Ireland, a climate service supporting local authorities and sectors adapting to climate change. In addition to his work in Ireland, James has worked in Scotland developing a national assessment of coastal change for the Scottish Government, in Denmark researching coastal adaptation in small coastal towns and cities. James’ research focuses on climate adaptation and risk, coastal management, GIS, and Earth Observation.
