To help bridge the gap between useful climate services and usable climate services for end-users, especially for the financial sector.
Karianne de Bruin is an environmental economist and has over 15 years of experience in research, project management and consulting in the areas of adaptation economics, decision making under uncertainty, and climate services. Karianne holds a PhD from Wageningen University, on the economic analysis of climate adaptation. Before joining CAS in September 2021, Karianne worked at the Center for International Climate Research (CICERO) in Oslo and at Wageningen Environmental Research (WENR), where she led, among others, the Dutch part of the European project ClimINVEST and worked on the economic assessment of urban blue-green infrastructure. At CAS, she contributes to the work with the financial sector around physical climate risks and adaptation.
